Silver Cloud offers new air cruises to Antarctica in 2024

Passengers can choose between two five-day voyages departing February 2 and 7, 2024, respectively, or a six-day sailing departing February 12, 2024.

Roberto Martinoli, President and CEO of Silversea Cruises, explained: “In response to exceptional demand, we have added three new cruise voyages aboard Silver Cloud for 2024, enhancing our state-of-the-art Antarctica offering. industry and reinforcing our destination leadership… Our Pioneering Antarctic Bridge option is hugely popular with time-conscious travelers who prefer to experience the White Continent without crossing the Drake Passage.

Passengers will travel through the Drake Passage in business class comfort and land at the Chilean Eduardo Frei Montalva Air Base on King George Island. They will have the chance to explore Antarctic Sound, the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands before returning to King George Island.

The line’s expedition team will lead zodiac, kayak and exploration trips, as well as lectures on the geology, wildlife and history of the area.

Along with seeing ice formations and otherworldly landscapes, passengers will visit large colonies of penguins and may see several species of seals, whales, and other birds.

For sailings that cross the Drake Passage, Silversea recently introduced return trips to Antarctica from Puerto Williams, Chile.

Thanks to the cooperation between the Chilean authorities and local stakeholders, Silversea passengers will benefit from more convenient flight times, personalized service during a private charter flight and faster transfers to the ship, on exclusive itineraries 2022/23 from Puerto Williams aboard Silver Cloud, Silver Wind and Silver Explorer.
