Vintage Rolls Royce Silver Cloud converted into a sleeper powered by LS7

While choosing an old Rolls for your next dormant project might not be the most secretive option available, you have to admit that the end result is more than cool.

This is the latest Derelict project to come out of Icon, the company that specializes in turning old FJs and Broncos into masterpieces. The central idea is to find a car with the right patina and turn it into a modern artist without restoring its exterior appearance.

Jonathan Ward took this 1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and basically installed an all-new chassis with coil-over suspension, big Brembo brakes, modern electronics and an LS7 crate engine.

The car is then pieced together, with all of Icon’s work neatly tucked away for maximum sleeper status. It’s a brilliant concept that manages to keep all the fun without being too garish. It also allows the owner to enjoy it as it is without worrying about things like scratching the paint etc.

The interior, meanwhile, has been fully restored, including all wood inlays and leather upholstery, while the addition of a modern air conditioning system makes daily commuting easier.

Jay Leno takes us for a spin around and under Icon’s gorgeous Silver Cloud, with Ward providing all the juicy details.
